The broadsword is a Victorian term coined for the primary edged weapon of the Medieval period. They varied in length from 3 feet - 5 feet and were held with a single handed grip, a hand and a half grip, or a two handed grip. For both historical accuracy as well as ease of combat choreography, all our broadswords are hand and a half weapons. This means they are light enough to be wielded with one hand, but the grip is long enough to fit both hands if so desired.
BROADSWORD PAGE 1 Combat Worthy AFS Broadswords
Each of the styles on this page that begin with the AFS prefix are available in two different blade weights: Regular and Super. The Super blade is a bit heavier and produces a deeper clanging sound. If the weapon is to be used extensively, the Super blade is recommended, though the Regular blade does easily holds up to the stress of several productions worth of stage fights.
