The Courtsword (also called the Small Sword or the Town Sword) was the sidearm of gentlemen from the late1600's through the very early 1800's. It was designed far more for thrusting than cutting, hence its very sturdy triangular blade. Its blade was shorter and the overall hilt was lighter to allow quicker movement of the sword. All swords can be fitted with leather scabbards.
