LEATHER FROGS

The term "frog" has become a generic term denoting any means of hanging a sword or dagger. Our Frogs are, more or less, sword/dagger "holsters" that do not require full scabbards or sheaths for the blades. Some directors/designers prefer not to deal with the bulk of historically accurate hangers and scabbards. But if a sword is simply stuck into a belt, the weapon hangs straight down, frequently tripping the actor or slipping out of the belt. These Frogs hang the bare blade at safe angle away from the actor.

These Frogs are particulary popular when dealing with amateur or inexperienced actors, since they have less to fuss and worry about.

View the WARDROBE DEMONSTRATION page to see how the frogs look with weapons and costumes.
