JAPANESE DRESS KATANA/WAKIZASHI/TANTO
Here is a beautiful collection of Japanese Swords. Use them for any Japanese play requiring Samurai Warriors outfitted with a single sword or a full daisho (set).
Many of the weapons here match. Any Katana, Wakizashi or Tanto with the same number (for instance K10, W10 and T10) all are from a matched set.
What's the difference between these weapons?
KATANA
The Katana is the typical "Samurai Sword". With a blade length of roughly 29" it was quick, light and deadly.
WAKIZASHI
Experts still debate the exact use of this shorter sword (average blade length 19"), but most agree that this was the "indoor sword" - small Japanese houses not allowing a Katana to be swung. A Samurai would always be armed with both a Katana and Wakizashi stuck in his obi (belt sash).
TANTOThis is the Japanese dagger, with a blade length of around 12".
